The blood donation campaign

It is time for Persatuan Bekas Pelajar MRSM Malaysia’s (ANSARA) Annual Pre-Ramadhan Blood Donation campaign again.

This is the sixth time ANSARA is hosting this, to urge Malaysians to give blood in anticipation of the increased demand for blood during the Ramadhan and long Hari Raya Aidil Fitri holidays.

So far during the five years campaign, the ANSARA Pre-Ramadhan Blood Donation drive manage to collect an aggregate of  29, 323 pints of blood.

The best collection so far was in 201o, where 9,089 pints of blood were collected.

BH’s article: A blunder or sabotage?

KUALA LUMPUR: Some prominent bloggers have expressed strong displeasure against NSTP Group Managing Editor Abdul Jalil Hamid over an article in Berita Harian which they believe will have negative repercussions on the Government.

The article, titled ‘Saya sedih khidmat ditamatkan lebih awal‘, had ex-Public Service Department  director-general Tan Sri Abu Bakar Abdullah airing unhappiness for being ‘victimised’ when his service was terminated earlier.

In the article, Abu Bakar was quoted as saying that he had opted to retire at 60 but the government’s unexpected decision meant that, his benefits and pension would only be considered until last month.

In term of seniority, Abu Bakar had been speculated to be the next Chief Secretary of the Government replacing Tan Sri Mohd Sidek Hassan but in the end the position went to Datuk Seri Dr Ali Hamsa.

Prior to this, some quarters felt that Abu Bakar should be held responsible for the Public Service Remuneration Scheme (SBPA) that had to be scrapped following widespread protests from the civil service ranks and files who felt the scheme was for the benefit of those in the senior positions.

According to blogger A Voice, Abu Bakar was personally assigned by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak to look into a new pay scheme that better serve the civil servants but instead he had come up with the SBPA.
